Wendi Peters was “gloriously wicked“ as Carabosse – “one of the best pantomime villains on the circuit”, while the cheeky additions of “time travel, a trumpeting fairy and giant killer sausages”, made it a panto to really remember.
The Comet was equally impressed, praising the “vibrant production” packed with “colourful sets and even more colourful characters”.
“There were fun songs, characters – and props – popping up into view at unexpected times, enough references to bands such as One Direction and Little Mix for the children, and plenty of tongue-firmly-in-cheek jokes for adults.”

In 2015 the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage watched ticket sales soar for Sleeping Beauty, a panto that packed a real punch. Coronation Street‘s very own Wendi Peters starred as twisted Evil Carabosse and Stevenage’s favourite Dame, Paul Laidlaw, played Nellie Night Nurse, making Sleeping Beauty a traditional romp stuffed full of fun for all of the family.
The Stage gave Sleeping Beauty a glowing write-up, saying that the “clever script, ingenious structure and some stunning vocals prove that this creative team means business”.
